I welcome you to the Shalamar Medical &Dental College, Lahore with immense pride. The College was established in 2010 and was named due to its proximity to Shalamar Gardens.

It is an honour and a privilege to be the Principal of an institute that stands for excellence and persistently sets the highest standards of medical education.

SMDC aspires to give this land many leaders in diverse fields of medicinal sciences. Catering to more than 750 students, SMDC is considered amongst the best and most sought after colleges in the city of Lahore or I would say in the Punjab province.

As pioneers in the field of medical education, our students are provided with quality training that fosters creativity and passion thus equipping them with skills, confidence and a positive approach towards their profession with special emphasis on versatile personality development.

The progress of an Institute depends mainly on performance of the students in academics, sports and cultural activities along with maintaining high values and ethics. Therefore, the College encourages the students to participate in various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. SMDC is also well-known for its students achieving honours and awards in the professional examinations held by the University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore.

Initially, the focus was on undergraduate teaching but in a short span of time it has been elevated to a post-graduate training institute in various disciplines by CPSP & UHS. The call of the time is to progress and not merely to move ahead. At SMDC we desire to offer our students a global exposure. The college facilitates Students Exchange Programmes in collaboration with GMEX (Global Educational Exchange in Medicine). This collaboration is a way forward for SMDC students to go abroad to renowned Universities/ Institutes for electives, further training & studies.

Our governing body comprises of Educationists, Industrialists, Businessman and achievers in their chosen fields. The management is highly supportive for the overall development of the students and faculty takes keen interest and stands behind any such endeavour and supports ‘innovations in healthcare’. Our Faculty is committed and dedicated for the development of the institution by sharing their knowledge and play the role of facilitators as well as role models to our students. The members of the non- teaching staff are highly dedicated with total commitment towards achievement of our mission and goals.
